About Us
The West Kootenay Boundary Community Investment Co-op is a new for-profit Co-operative Association registered in British Columbia. We are member-owned, locally controlled and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
We finance businesses located in the West Kootenay Boundary, which includes the following regions and their surrounding communities:
Grand Forks-Boundary
Trail-Rossland
Nelson-Castlegar
Slocan, Arrow and Upper Kootenay Lakes
How It Works
1. Pooling our capital
Members of the WKB Investment Co-op pool their money together to directly support businesses in their communities that are making an impact.
2. Financing local businesses
Businesses within our region can apply for financing that works for their unique needs. Approved applicants receive business development guidance, collaborative financing and ongoing support.
3. Partnering for success
The WKB Investment Co-op leverages our member's investments with traditional financial institutions to provide the capital your business needs to grow.
4. Creating Community Impact
We direct capital into local businesses that provide economic, social, environmental and community impacts. We believe in doing good while making a profit.
